SAVE THE DATE: STA ANNUAL CONFERENCE & INNOVATION AWARDS 2025 WITHIN THE EUROPEAN TRANSPORT CONFERENCE
Save the date for the STA Annual Conference & Innovation Awards! This year, the 10th edition of the event is held in collaboration with European Transport Conference at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, on 17 September 2025 from 11:00 to 13:30 CEST.
Acknowledging that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of daily life, with advanced technologies being widely adopted, this year the 2025 STA Annual Conference theme focuses on “Safer and Greener Transport Infrastructures in the Context of AI and Big Data Developments”, closely aligned with the European Commission’s objective of achieving net-zero carbon emissions, placing safety and sustainability at the heart of the transport sector’s transformation.
As every year, the STA Annual Conference offers a key platform bringing together industry experts, policymakers, researchers, and innovators to explore current and emerging policies, solutions, and strategies that drive the development of a new generation of safer and greener transport infrastructures. These infrastructures leverage the latest advancements in AI and Big Data to create sustainable and resilient transport systems.
The European Transport Conference, held concurrently, attracts transport policymakers, practitioners, and researchers from across Europe and beyond. The conference will provide in-depth presentations addressing policy challenges and best practices, focusing on sustainable transport in a polarised world, ensuring accessibility despite financial constraints, and fostering adaptability and resilience in transport decision-making.
The 2025 STA Annual Conference & Innovation Awards agenda is beginning to unfold with over six confirmed speakers and a compelling set of sessions. Two interactive roundtables offer an opportunity for in-depth discussion on policy and innovation priorities, encouraging participant engagement on the digitalisation and sustainability of transport infrastructure.
Session themes will include:
A cross-country index on mobility decarbonisation;
The integration of AI across the transport infrastructure lifecycle;
Strategic directions for EU transport R&D;
The digital adaptation of local roads;
Progress from STA’s R&D Projects.
